If only I were a little more technically savvy, I could have pictures and video's to show you more of what is going on with NEWS Worthy Network in this newsletter! But for now, you will just have to visit our Facebook page http://facebook.com/nwnAltoona There is always something going on, and it has been a journey of learning and growing in the process!
If you are reading this and wondering, What can I do to help out? There must be something that I can do to help out. Let me invite you to become a "Friend" of NEWS Worthy Network. If there is a particular skill you may have or you just like to support a great cause, we can put your talent and skill to good use. Here are a few ways :)
Friends helping Friends at Boscov's, October 16th ( A $5.00 coupon for 25% off)
If you would like to sell coupons or purchase them, that helps our non-profit!
Yard Sale at New Life Worship Center, October 19th & 20th
We need individuals who like to set up for a huge indoor yard sale!
You may have some items that you would like to donate to the sale.
Our yard sales are well advertised and have been a blessing for many!
Want to become an active "friend" of NEWS Worthy Network, we welcome you to join us at our Friends meeting scheduled for September 17th. At the meeting, we will discuss upcoming events and plan for their success.
If you like manual labor, we have a house that is being renovated, but prior to any remodeling, we have been doing a total gutting of the place. We still have to remove some drywall screws from the studs, and remove some of the woodwork that will be replaced. We are patiently waiting the architectural drawings that are being made in support of the permit. The process has been slower than we would like, but again, we are learning about the way you do business in the City of Altoona.
Maybe you have a desire to "pay it forward", for your family, friends, or loved ones. We have an Adopt a Room project, that is set up to honor or memorialize an individual who has been affected by addiction. You simply choose a room in the house to fund, and upon completion, we will be sure to display that individual's name on a plaque. This could be a great project for companies, or social groups to get involved in also. We can provide a brochure upon request.
Operation Our Town grant recipient. We are being recognized on August 29th, as one of the recipients of the Operation Our Town grants! We applied for the Work Services portion of our program, where the individuals at the house will be expected to participate in work projects within the community. This grant will provide the equipment needed for various projects like landscaping, painting, snow removal and house cleaning. We are grateful to be recognized as a non-profit that will be bettering the community that we live in.
As a faith based organization, we trust in the Lord, that He will provide for all of our needs. We trust that He will bring all things together to work for His glory for all of us who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
Feel free to contact us for more information, we would enjoy hearing from you!
